I couldn't resist the white sparkle yarn that seems to be everywhere at the moment - it's just crying out to be made into snowballs - and who needs an excuse to get out the pompom maker!

Snowball Set
One size to fit toddler
Scarf
Double Knitting Yarn and 4.00mm needles
Cast on 32 stitches
Knit all rows until scarf measures 65cm (or desired length)
Cast off
Add a snowball pompom to each corner
Hat
Double Knitting Yarn and 3.50mm and 4.00mm needles
Cast on 44 stitches using 3.50mm needles
Knit 2, Purl 2 to the end of the row
Repeat the above until the rib measures 6cm
Change to 4.00mm needles and knit all rows until the hat measures 18cm
Either cast off if you are sewing the two parts together or leave the stitches on a spare needle if you are knitting together
Make second piece as the first.
Join along the top seam and add a pompom to each corner.
