While the kettle was boiling I took a quick snap of my latest charity shop treasure - a pretty set of Royal Stuart cups and saucers decorated with foxgloves. Sadly, no plates - but that just creates another charity shop challenge! I don't just love them because they're pretty - they're also B-I-G - big - a "proppa cuppa". Shame that the cake in the background is just a photo - from Prima's Spring Makes magazine - today's tea break treat!
At last - a few rays of sunshine - and I've added some extra sun with these gorgeous yellow tulips and sweet egg candles in some of my favourite Masons Ironstone blue and white china
This bank holiday I will mostly be turning the above into a new knitting pattern. I never thought of myself as a tangerine person but I love orange combined with aqua and if you need convincing just check out the fabulous Emily Taylor fabric in the background.
Wishing you all a great Easter! Enjoy your long weekend and don't forget to put your clocks forward! It would have been nice to post something Springlike today - some fresh green shoots in the garden or a bit of blue sky, but here "Up North" if it hasn't been raining, it's been snowing!
Thankfully one of my obsessions is hot water bottles (sad - but true!) and today I'm putting them to good use. Some people think they're just for slipping between the sheets - but a HWB isn't just for bedtime - it's for life! Cosy up to one infront of the telly, squeeze one in beside you on your office chair or if your car isn't posh enough to have heated seats take one with you on frosty mornings Finished at last! The Duck Egg Dresser! I've wanted something like this for a long time now - I couldn't find one to fit so I uttered the dreaded words "I'll make one myself" Many months later - a "ginger pine" flatpack dresser transformed with some Laura Ashley Eggshell paint and some lovely handles from These Please - and of course lots of lovely red and aqua china and accessories |
Welcome to my blog. It's not just knitting! Archives
